In the ever-growing and changing skin care industry, there is always something for everyone. Although for many, it can be quite daunting when trying to figure out exactly what to buy. What texture do you like? do you want organic? A particular Brand? Not to mention delving into the many, many different skin concerns...oh, & the list goes on!
Personally, I am always on the look out to try new things. Whether that be cleansers, moisturisers or the many, many face masks I have in my cupboard that my boyfriend tells me I don't need! ( Okay, so I have like 10 just sitting there, but I will get to them one day! Right?! )
A couple of weeks ago, I was introduced to Rodan + Fields' 'soothe' range*. Rodan and fields is a premium skincare brand founded by dermatologists Dr. Katie Rodan & Dr. Kathy Fields.
I was super intrigued because I have super sensitive skin, and if you had read my stripped back skincare routine, you would know that I was looking for a new, soothing routine and I felt like it fit perfectly.
Our company was established on the principle that living better in your skin means living better in your life. We believe everyone has the opportunity to make a difference in their own lives—and in the lives of others.
The soothe range comes in a four step process;
Soothe Cleanser; This is an extremely gentle cream wash, made to wash all of the impurities away. This feels super soft on the skin and leaves it feeling fresh, revitalised, and clean.
With first use, I was completely drawn in. This cleanser made my skin feel INSTANTLY softer. I usually have these bumps on my skin, but when using this it just felt so darned clean!
One of the biggest things that can put me off skincare is the smell. I am sooo happy that this is completely scentless. Y'know when something smells like nothing, so it smells fresh and clean?! This is what it smells like. I am in lurrrvveee!
The Soothe Sensitive Skin Treatment is honestly the softest, most silkiest cream that I have ever had the honour of using. The first day I tried it was like the first time you lay on brand new, silk sheets; Incredibly lush.
I have noticed a hugeee difference in my skin after this beaut. My skin feels so much softer, and it also has this incredible shine about it. It's honestly like an illuminator. BUT it also has helped my pores. As this is a 4 step routine, I am not sure if this is the sole reason to my incredible new found porelessness, but I love it nevertheless.
This beaut is the lucky last out of the 'nighttime' routine. There is a 4th step, but it's pretty impractical to put sunscreen lotion on before bed. Unless you live on the sun! This has been my holy grail moisturiser since purchase. Now, let me tell you why!
I have had this for 3 weeks, and in that 3 weeks, I have used it every night. (Not gonna lie, I am incredibly lazy when it comes to morning time skincare routines haha)
My skin feels softer, less dry and I feel the moisturiser stays on my face throughout the night. It doesn't burn like some intense moisturisers do, and and it. never. gets. sticky! (I'm not sure thats a normal thing to get sticky moisturisers...maybe I should reevaluate my collection haha)
All in all, this has been one of the best skincare routines I've come across!
Now for the 4th step!
Now, over here on my blog, I like it to be a trustworthy source of information. So, everything I say, is 100% true. My reason for this statement? I haven't exactly used this a lot.
I have tried it, I loved the texture and I loved the way my skin felt. It is an amazing daytime lotion, with added protection. However, I just don't think an SPF of 15 is viable. Especially when I live in a country with one of the most harmful sun rays in the world. For this fact alone, I think I would personally reach for something with a higher SPF if the quality of the lotion was the same.
Sun is your skins worst enemy.
Since I have loved this routine a lot, I will be rebuying it. Unfortuatenly, there is no website to purchase from, but if you were interested and wanted to learn more about the products, I can point you in the right direction. Just shoot me an email @ email@example.com and I will get back to you with the details of the consultant that helped me out!
Have you ever tried/heard of Rodan + Fields?! IF so, what did you think?! I would love to know how you go on in the comments down below! <3
